Chasing the Mourning Warbler; Dr. J Explains Four Song Regions Over almost three decades of study, he has defined four distinct habitat regions based on different dialects of the Mourning Warbler song. These variations are called regiolects, and Pitocchelli uses field playback experiments to expose birds to songs from other regions.
